The Weekend in Review

We were so blessed to have incredible weather this weekend! Someone at work told me that we have had rain of some sort for the last 9 weekends! Clearly April showers.....I am so ready for May.

My sweet friend Christy works for a non-profit and offered us some tickets to the Nascar Race. We were able to go on Friday night to the Lipton Tea 250 and we were so excited. Well, not ALL of us.....Cooper had a phobia about going and cried for an hour before we left. He fell asleep in the car for the ride to the track and I was hopeful that he would be fine. Not so. We heard. "Gentleman, start your engines!" and were able to get in about 2 laps before he imploded (yes, he had earplugs and a headset). Ugh. That nutty kid.

Each Sunday as a part of our bedtime routine, we talk about the weekend and ask him- "What was your favorite thing this weekend? Yup, you guessed it- he said the race! Go figure.

On Saturday, Cooper's school had its festival and doing the Maypole Dance is a part of the opening ceremony. The kindergartners do the dance and it couldn't be any more adorable. They practice for weeks and it's taken very seriously. Cooper's partner was so sweet and they made the cutest couple. Imagine 20 children dressed in Sunday best concentrating on doing the dance correctly- and all the time knowing that as soon as they were finished they could change their clothes and compete in the tug-of-war. Priceless!

We went to the river in the late afternoon and put the finishing touches on the yard. We've worked so hard over the years to make our little cottage look "cottage-y". It's finally on it's way. We had a wonderful time as usual with our neighbors and just being outside and having a purpose. We're all at our best at the river- not a care in the world.

Hope you had a wonderful weekend as well!

Carolyn
